Jade Evelyn is a family lawyer at Burke Mead Lawyers and practices exclusively in family law.  Jade is passionate about advocating for people who have been through or are going through a separation.  Jade’s approach is to family law can look different in each case, because every family or relationship is unique.  Jade is acutely aware that she has access to some of the most intimate and personal details of a persons life and takes that responsibility very seriously.   

Jade is known for giving comprehensive legal advice that makes sense and is spoken in a language that is understood.  Jade has experience advocating for clients in correspondence, mediation and court proceedings.  Jade represents a range of clients in relation to parenting disputes, property disputes and child support disputes, including but not limited matters involving:

  • Allegations of risk, abuse and/or family violence including those that require supervised time;
  • Allegations of illicit substance or alcohol abuse including testing for same;
  • Recovery applications;
  • International and interstate relocations;
  • Discrete issues such as a child’s name, school enrolments, medical issues etc;
  • Parentage and parentage testing
  • TPD or compensation payments;
  • Defined benefit superannuation schemes;
  • Inter-familial loans;
  • Property matters involving companies, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds.

Jade has been admitted in both the Supreme Court of New south Wales and the High Court of Australia.  Jade has appeared in various courts, across different jurisdictions in Newcastle, Sydney, Parramatta and now that the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia has a national list, frequently appears electronically in registries in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory.
