Helping clients navigate the legal process to resolve parenting and property issues.

“I have always been passionate about being a family lawyer. When a family breaks down, there is a whirlpool of emotion, confusion, and uncertainty. Whether it be fear of losing the relationship with the children, needing to protect children from adverse situations, or concern about how to manage complex financial affairs and property division, it is a highly stressful and intense time for clients.

This trauma can be intensified when people then find themselves having to navigate the legal process and the court to resolve parenting and property issues. I believe that in addition to providing a high level of specialist advice and representation, being empathetic and understanding to our clients’ needs is critical to ensuring that our clients feel supported and valued.

I find it extremely rewarding to be able to assist our clients through what might otherwise be a very daunting process to help them achieve the best possible outcome.”

Lucy is unashamedly passionate about shoes. They come in a distant third to her family and her dynamic family law practice, but they do put a sparkle in her eye on those particularly… challenging… days.

Lucy has a very impressive academic record, graduating with honours and completing her Masters in Family Law – but that pales against her experience as a solicitor specialising in Family Law with experience in complex parenting and property matters. Lucy has a wealth of experience gathered working for Community Legal Centres as a solicitor and seminar speaker. A highly driven and formidable opponent, her proactive approach to litigation produces outstanding results.

Even given all this (and perhaps most importantly for her colleagues), she also somehow manages to be the most energetic and creative member of the Burke & Mead Lawyers social committee, and is always looking for new and inclusive ideas and events to keep the team as energised and focused as possible.
